The Sines Family
We built this with love and care to share with you
Over the last decade with the help of our children and Dan’s parents, we have been building a retreat for our family and friends to come together. This venue was not built for profit; it was built to share the beauty and solitude of our property with our loved-ones.
We also started a homesteaders style ranch with a greenhouse, pigs, chickens, and someday, Highland cattle.
If you are looking at this, then you are invited. We have enough room and facilities for ~50 people to stay on property for days. We enjoy hosting family reunions, weddings, and other special events. We also love having individual families visit and explore the natural wonders around us.

Windflower Mountain

Geography
Windflower mountain is made up of a very diverse ecosystem consisting of lots of native plants and vegetation. We have a beautiful pine forest, aspen grove, pastures, hilltops with incredible views and of course Windflowers or pasqueflower as they are also known. These beautiful purple flowers are the first to pop through the snow, signaling the start of Spring.
Climate
Weather in Colorado is notoriously unpredictable, and the same is true at Windflower Mountain.
Temperatures range from 30°F to 70°F in the Spring and Fall. Summers come with afternoon thunderstorms, and although the days can get up to 90°F, the nights are usually cooler around 50°F. Winter comes early and stays late on Windflower Mountain with the first snow typically arriving around October and we've seen snow as late as June!
Wildlife
Windflower Mountain is home to lots of Colorado native wildlife. We have wild deer, elk, coyotes, bears, bobcats, golden eagles, red hawks, and more!
Directions
When trying to find us, please don’t trust mapping apps or that you’ll have enough cell service to get to us – Use the following directions.
Note: It’s about a 1 hour drive from the western edge of Colorado Springs.
- From Woodland Park – go west on highway 24
- Just past Divide – turn left onto Twin Rocks Rd
- At end of Twin Rocks Rd – turn left onto County Rd 1
- At llama farm, just before Evergreen gas station – turn right onto County Rd 11
- County Rd 11 forks near Four Mile church – veer right onto County Rd 112
- Drive out of Teller county and into Park county – road changes name to County Rd 102
- One mile past old A-frame, between mile markers 10 & 9 – turn left onto driveway for 9458 and 9470
- Go up driveway past the lower house and continue to the right up to the second house
- If you drive over cattle guards, or arrive in the town of Guffey, you have gone too far
